iLead is a part of Bethel Baptist Church’s youth ministry that develops the leadership skills of youth in the church so they become active leaders in the church and outside of it.
There are 3 phases to iLead:
1) The leadership potential is RECOGNIZED. This could either be recognized by the student or by an adult (pastor, youth leader, parent, etc.).
2) After potential leadership is recognized, the student is invited to join iLead and then enter phase 2: be TRAINED to develop leadership skills and apply them to his/her life. Training is done by using a book called Leadership Rocks. Students in iLead will be given a copy of the book and will read & work through it on a schedule with other students who are currently involved in iLead. The group will meet together with Pastor Ryan occasionally, but will mainly be posting responses to questions in a forum on this website to facilitate discussion between those students involved on the main points of what they’re reading. Essentially, they’ll be teaching each other by posting their comments on this website.
3) After completing the book and discussions, each student will then be MOBILIZED into action by choosing a certain leadership task and carrying it out. This task will be decided on by the student and Pastor Ryan and will be a task that in some way will glorify God.
